The organization DIF (Danmarks Idrætsforbund) and 27 special unions is the founder of a new sporting event in Denmark and already had received positive impressions from some of the athletes.
The event, that goes by the name "DM-ugen" roughly translated to The Danish Champions Week, was the first time ever it had been held. The Danish city Aalborg was the host for the brand-new sporting event, that took place from the 23. to the 26. of June and will be the host for the 2023 edition of "DM-ugen". The new sporting event gathered 27 unions which covers more than 100 discipline in 50 different types of sport.
With the sun high in the sky and not a cloud in sight, except the last few hours of the event, the event was held with a high amount of success. Thousands of people were present during the event and many people got a new view on different kinds of sports and its competitive nature. The mayor of Aalborg Municipal was over the moon, after the success of the event and is excited for the 2023 edition of "DM-ugen". He also hopes that many of the visitors had been inspired to try a new sport, that they might not have known before the event.
The Danish sprinter Kojo Musah is one of the athletes that thought highly of the concept and the event itself and thought that the event "DM-ugen" was a very good idea. With the event gathering more than 100 disciplines, people had a high chance of drawing people out of their homes and watch other sports that they might normally see. With the event, more focus was also drawn to these niche sports.
